Blog Post 2 Module 28

-Why do different teachers use different rubrics? I feel like student assessment would be much more consistent if teachers were to use a single format of rubric.

-Performance assessment is different than other forms of assessment because it is not based on concrete facts. It is based on how the teacher views a student's progress. This is why it can be difficult for teachers in some subject areas to get along with parents because it is harder to provide concrete data and facts for why a student earned a certain grade on a performance assessment. A performance assessment in my subject area of physical education might look like a skills test. For example, at the end of a frisbee unit I might have students throw a frisbee to one another or at a target. During this I would have a checklist and look to make sure that the students are using proper technique. I would also have a pre-test before the unit to see how they have progressed.
