Blog Post 1 Module 18

-One thing I was wondering was what is the best way to hand control over to the students in a classroom? Or is there a best way?

-Handing over control to the students is hard for a teacher because he or she doesn't know how the students are going to handle the responsibility. The students could take advantage of the extra leash and choke the teacher with it or they could rise to the occassion and prove that they are growing, responsible young students. Not only is it harder psychologically for the teacher, it is also more difficult because it requires more preparation on the teacher's part. The teacher must prepare for every outcome that could come out of the situation. This could be a very productive time for the class, though. With students leading a presentation on the lesson, they could provide another perspective on the material that the teacher might not have seen. Along those lines, they could also relate to their fellow students better so that students that may have trouble understanding the teacher's explanations would be able to follow more easily because the students are teaching it in a way that they understand.
