In my current classes, I have to memorize a lot of information and a lot of music. I do this by taking notes in class and then making flashcards from the notes. I encode the information from lecture and the books by writing the most important and relevant information down in my notebook. I encode and store the information by dividing up my notes by piece of music and make every piece a flashcard. More in line with what the video was about, when I read a book, I take large sticky notes and put them on the pages I would need to refer back to. On that sticky note, I write what kind of information was on the page.

What class is this? Sounds like early music history 401. YIKES, but maybe not. If there is a textbook providing information for each piece learned, highlighting key information about each piece would be helpful, but try to stick to one color...in my opinion. I tend to stray from sticky notes attached to books because they get all bent up and eventually fall off quicker than I'd imagine, and it's more of a hassle than convenience.
