In this video there are many techinques that are being used. In highschool we were taught to actively read. Active reading consisted of underlining words that we didn't know, asking questions, summarize parts of the text we were unfamiliar with, and making predictions into the future. These techniques are similiar to what the professor in the video was explaining. These techniques seemed very useful to me when I was actively reading. They help me become more engaged in the text and understand the text better. I feel that this is important for all teachers to encourage and maektheir students do, because as critical thinkers students can learn more.
