Question/ Confusion:

I'm a little confused on the measurement part in the processes of assessment. Is this the grade/ score?


Formally Assessed/ Formatve Assessment: Preplanned final projects at the end of each unit.

Formally Assessed/ Summatve Assessment: A preplanned final test at the end of the grading period

Informally Assessed/ Summative Assessment: Pop demonstrations.. They will have to show the teacher how to correctly use the materials so that they know they are learning the proper handling techniques.

Informally Assessed/ Formative Assessment: At the end of the lesson the teacher can ask questions to the class based on the information they learned. The teacher will be able to see who is paying attention and who is struggling with the material.

You can't tell whether the assessment is formative or summative just by looking at it because you will not know how the teacher will use that information. In formative assessment, the teacher is using the information to see if they need to make adjustments to help improve the students' learning. In summative, the assessment is used at the end to give a final grade.
