I think that the Post-Its and definition strategies could be placed in a category of note taking and that when I write down a certain definition or realize that the green Post-It stands for a certain idea, it easily is stored into my memory and in turn aids me in learning about the concepts. The more notes I take during an assignment, the more I learn and more is achieved at a higher level. Also, because of my organized note taking and study skills, my study time seems to be cut in half compared to those who take detailed, long notes because I’m used to the way I organize my thoughts and it makes sense to me.

Module 12/14- Blog Post #2
1. I am a very organized person in general, but especially when it comes to studying and taking notes for classes. I use Post-It’s in every color when I am reading a book for a class to separate the sections that I know are going to be important for an assignment or test. The color-coding helps me remember what sections are what and easily allows me to flip to certain sections when I need to revert back to them. Another strategy that I was taught in the 4th grade that I still use today is underlining words that I’m not familiar with, but I know are important to my comprehension, and looking up the definition and writing it next to that word so that I can further understand what I’m reading about. When I’m assigned a reading, I find that skimming over the reading fairly quickly before I actually dive into the reading is very helpful because I am quickly introduced to certain terms or concepts before I read the entire reading. It sort of gets me “in the zone” for the reading and focuses me into the reading before starting.
