Module 12 & 14 Blog Post 2

In regards to the tools that she used, I too also use those stick tabs to mark important pages. I usually mark the beginning of each chapter, though. I do go through and underline in pencil what I think to be important information. Then, when I am reading through the information again, I go through with a highlighter so I can mark the information that is truly important to me. I also make notes along the margins of important information. If we talk about a literature book in one of my French courses, then I’ll write down the important notes or comments that the teacher may make about a certain reading or section. I like to take notes during class. It not only helps me to learn the information but it also keeps me focused in the class. I can write down the information in my own words which will help me to understand what was presented to me. Before writing an essay, I usually create an outline so that I can see the information that I will be writing about and I can organize my thoughts on paper. This makes it a lot easier for me to begin writing the essay, which is one thing that I do not enjoy doing at all. I like when teachers provide lecture notes (even if it is after the class period) because then I can see what information the teacher deems important. I’m a list maker so before I start a project or start studying for something, I usually make a list of what I need to study (chapters, important concepts, etc.). This helps me to stay focused on the information that I will need to know or need to learn more about.
