Blog Post 1 (Deep Reading)
- Discuss one question or confusion that you have from the reading (you should comment on these within others' posts).
- I don't have any questions at this time. I wonder how many tests they performed to come up with all of these theories.
- According to Information Processing Theory, what is learning? From your definition, what are some implications for teaching?
- Learning is applying something you sense to your sensory memory (some information is lost), the perceiving and paying attention to that item and putting it into working memory (some information is lost), then storing it in the long-term memory where you can retrieve it later (some items may get lost because of encoding failure, storage decay (from not practicing), or retrieval failure.
- Some implications for teaching are relating it to the senses and emotions. You have to make sure the students relate the information to their own lives so they can better understand the material.
- Refering to the model of memory below, describe a scenario of how a child might learn SOMETHING (as usual, you fill in this part) in detail. Make sure you trace through each stage and element of the model.
- The student hears me teach about the renassance. They see pictures of what happened in the renassance. They taste food like what they ate during the rennasance.I ask the students questions about the Renaissance after each step. I have a quiz about the Renaissance. I have a unit exam that includes questions about the Renaissance. I have questions related to the Renaissance.

At first I was having a really hard time not understanding this model but putting a story to it. When I was reading the other students blogs I think I was getting confused because they were going so in depth. Your story was simple and to the point which helped me to understand the model better.
